New Black Stars asst coach Desmond Offei: 'We are hungry to qualify for World Cup'

Desmond Ofei is confident that the revamped Black Stars technical team will quickly improve Ghana’s football fortunes.

The Ghana U20 coach, recently appointed as one of the senior team’s assistant coaches, believes the team is well-structured to achieve success.

The Ghana FA made these changes after the Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 AFCON, bringing in experienced German coach Winfried Schäfer as technical director.

Speaking to Citi Sports, Ofei emphasized the team’s determination to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, highlighting the additions of a video analyst and a sports psychologist.

The Black Stars will resume their World Cup qualifying campaign in March with matches against Chad and Madagascar.
