New Leicester boss Van Nistelrooy 'astonished' by offers

New Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy expressed surprise at the level of interest in him after his brief stint as Manchester United's interim boss.

Ultimately, he chose Leicester, seeing it as a great opportunity after positive discussions. Van Nistelrooy previously managed PSV Eindhoven, winning the Dutch Cup and finishing second in the Eredivisie.

Now at Leicester, 16th in the Premier League, he is focused on maintaining the club’s top-flight status. He also joked about striker Jamie Vardy breaking his record for consecutive Premier League goals, acknowledging their shared history.
