New RFEF President promises fresh contract for Spain coach, Javier Tebas confirms ‘his man’

President Rafael Louzan President Rafael Louzan

Rafael Louzan, the newly elected President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), has promised to offer Spain's coach, Luis de la Fuente, a new contract.

De la Fuente, whose current deal runs until 2026, is reportedly dissatisfied with his €1 million salary, despite leading Spain to victory in Euro 2024.

Louzan stated he would discuss the renewal with de la Fuente immediately. La Liga President Javier Tebas, who supported Louzan’s candidacy, emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation between RFEF and La Liga.

However, Louzan faces a potential seven-year suspension due to a conviction from his time as the President of Pontevedra City Council, although Tebas expressed confidence in his leadership.
