Newly assembled Black Stars technical is really strong – Desmond Ofei

Black Stars assistant coach Desmond Ofei has expressed confidence in Ghana’s newly revamped technical team, calling it strong and well-structured.

Following Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2025 AFCON, the GFA made key changes while retaining Otto Addo as head coach.

John Paintsil and Ofei were appointed as first and second assistant coaches, respectively, with Fatau Dauda continuing as goalkeepers’ trainer.

Experienced German coach Winfried Schaffer will serve as technical advisor, while Kris Perquy and Gregory De Grauwe join as psychologist and video analyst. Ofei praised the team’s chemistry and Schaffer’s expertise.

The Black Stars will regroup in March for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
