Ibrahim Musa Gusau is the new head of WAFU Zone B. He replaces Ghana’s Kurt Okraku, who resigned.
Gusau's appointment has strong support from member associations. This change aims to bring stability and fresh energy to West African football.
He has been the NFF President since 2022. His new role comes at a crucial time for the region.
Okraku stepped down due to his new responsibilities with CAF. He was elected unopposed to the CAF Executive Council and became its 2nd Vice President.
Okraku stated that managing both roles would be unsustainable.
Gusau has significant administrative experience. He previously led the Athletics Federation of Nigeria and Zamfara Football Association. He has also served on various CAF committees, including the Youth Organising Committee.
Elected as NFF President during the 78th Elective Congress, he succeeded Amaju Pinnick.
His leadership in WAFU B is expected to enhance regional cooperation and promote football development in West Africa.
