Nii Lande Vanderpuye questions Black Stars progress despite big wins

Former Youth and Sports Minister Nii Lante Vanderpuye doubts the Black Stars' progress.

He made these comments after Ghana's recent World Cup qualifiers. The team won 5-0 against Chad on March 21, 2025. They also secured a 3-0 victory over Madagascar on March 24, 2025.

Despite these wins, Vanderpuye is not convinced about the team's development. He stated, “The two matches don’t show any improvement in the team.”

He added that winning by wide margins does not indicate progress. Vanderpuye wants a national team that instills fear in opponents like Argentina or Brazil.

On a positive note, these victories have improved Ghana’s chances for the World Cup. The team now leads Group I with 15 points. Comoros follows with 12 points, and Madagascar has 10 points.
