Nkenkaasu ‘A’ crowned champions of Dada Joe Cup

The 2025 Dada Joe annual football tournament concluded with excitement. Nkenkaasu ‘A’ defeated Nkwankwaa 1-0 in the final. This victory crowned them champions.

The three-day event began on Good Friday and ended on Sunday. It featured intense matches and thrilling moments throughout.

In the semi-finals, Nkenkaasu ‘A’ beat Nkenkaasu ‘B’ to reach the finals. Meanwhile, Nkwankwaa won against Darso 2-1 to advance as well. Both teams had dominated their group stages earlier in the tournament.

In the third-place playoff, Nkenkaasu ‘B’ secured a bronze medal. They achieved this with a convincing 3-0 win over Darso.

Nkenkaasu ‘A’ claimed their championship title with a hard-fought victory. Phillip Yeboah scored the winning goal in the 68th minute.

Joseph Badu Boateng, known as Dada Joe, organized the tournament. He awarded Nkenkaasu ‘A’ GHS 5,000 and a trophy for their win. Second place Nkwankwaa received GHS 3,000, while third place Nkenkaasu ‘B’ got GHS 2,000.

Kennedy Donkor from Nkenkaasu ‘A’ was named Best Player of the tournament. Jeffery Danquah Williams from Nkenkaasu ‘B’ was Top Scorer. Both received prizes and an all-expenses-paid trip to Dubai later this year.

After the game, Kennedy Donkor praised Dada Joe's efforts to host the tournament. He said it helped many youth realize their dreams.

“It’s a special tournament,” he noted. “We’ve really enjoyed it and are grateful to Dada Joe.”

Tournament organizer Joseph Adu Boateng expressed his appreciation as well. He thanked all participating teams and congratulated the winners.

“This tournament has been eye-opening,” he said. “I’m glad we brought everyone together for Easter celebrations.”
