Henry Asante Twum, Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has refuted claims that Nora Hauptle left her role as Black Queens coach due to a lack of friendly games.

Hauptle, who was appointed in 2023, decided not to renew her contract, and speculation arose that the absence of preparation games for the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) contributed to her departure.

However, Asante Twum clarified that the team played several friendlies, including against Benin and Japan, and had the option to face France.

He explained that the only month without a friendly was November, due to a lack of support from the Sports Ministry.

Hauptle has since been appointed head coach of Zambia's Copper Queens on a three-year deal.
