Nordqvist named Europe Solheim Cup captain

Sweden's Anna Nordqvist has been appointed Europe's captain for the 2026 Solheim Cup against the United States in the Netherlands.

The 37-year-old, a three-time major winner, has played in nine Solheim Cups, winning 17 of her 35 matches.

Nordqvist served as a playing vice-captain in 2023 when Europe retained the trophy and again in 2024, when the US won for the first time in seven years.

Expressing her excitement, Nordqvist called the Solheim Cup a significant part of her career since her debut in 2009.

The 2026 tournament will take place at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt from 11-13 September.
