Greg Norman, 69, has confirmed he expects to be replaced as the chief executive of LIV Golf, with reports indicating that former Philadelphia 76ers CEO Scott O'Neil will take over.

Norman, who has led the Saudi-backed golf league since October 2021, stated he was "fine" with the change. LIV Golf, funded by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), has attracted top golfers since its 2022 launch.

Despite facing criticism, particularly from Rory McIlroy, Norman expressed pride in his role in LIV's growth and confirmed he would remain involved in some capacity.

Meanwhile, LIV’s controversial existence led to a "framework agreement" in June 2023 for a potential merger with the PGA Tour, though no final deal has been reached.
