Nsoatreman FC owner and former Minister Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, along with club official Joseph Kyeremeh, has been granted bail following their arrest over the tragic death of Asante Kotoko fan Francis Yaw Frimpong, known as Nana Pooley.
The incident occurred during a Ghana Premier League match against Kotoko on February 3, 2025.
Agyemang Duah Owusu, also arrested, remains in custody after police found suspected bloodstained clothing and a firearm at his residence. He has been remanded until February 17, 2025.
In response, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has indefinitely suspended Nsoatreman FC’s home venue and halted the league pending investigations.
Several clubs, including Hearts of Oak, have called for stricter measures to combat hooliganism in Ghanaian football.
