Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan expressed strong views on the removal of former Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi, suggesting he was targeted due to his refusal to indulge selfish interests.
Gyan claimed Nyantakyi’s firm stance against corruption and personal gain made him a target for those wanting to manipulate the system.
He criticized the current state of Ghanaian football, lamenting that the sport has declined since Nyantakyi's departure.
Gyan argued that Nyantakyi, who was once a powerful figure in African football, was sabotaged because of his leadership style, which prioritized integrity over self-interest, leading to his downfall and the subsequent decline of Ghana football.
