Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has urged Ghanaians to remain patient and avoid premature World Cup celebrations as Ghana prepares to face Madagascar in a crucial qualifier.
Despite Ghana’s strong start in Group I, Addo insists the team must stay focused, emphasizing that qualification is not yet secured.
Ghana currently leads the group after a dominant 5-0 victory over Chad last Friday, with goals from Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Salisu, and Ernest Nuamah.
The team is in Al Hoceima, Morocco, fine-tuning preparations for tonight’s match, which Addo describes as a “small final.” He stressed that Madagascar is a tough opponent and a win is vital for their qualification hopes.
The game kicks off at 19:00 GMT at Stade Mimoun Al Arsi, and the Black Stars will be aiming to solidify their position at the top of the group.
Addo, however, remains cautious, stating, “Nobody needs to be thinking about the World Cup yet. We must take it step by step until the job is done.”
