1978 AFCON winner Mohammed Polo has called for Otto Addo’s dismissal, arguing he is not competent to lead the Black Stars.
Addo, 49, has faced criticism after failing to qualify Ghana for the 2025 AFCON, finishing last in Group F with just three points from six matches.
Polo believes Addo should have been sacked immediately and insists that the appointment of a technical advisor signals a lack of confidence in his abilities.
Despite this, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has retained Addo while bringing in German coach Winfried Schäfer as a technical advisor.
Other additions to the technical team include Desmond Ofei, John Paintsil, Fatau Dauda, psychologist Kris Perquy, and video analyst Gregory De Grauwe. The team now shifts focus to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March.
