Ghana Olympic Committee President Ben Nunoo Mensah has criticized Black Stars coach Otto Addo, questioning his competence to lead the team to the 2026 World Cup. Addo, 47, has faced backlash after Ghana failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), finishing last in Group F with just three points under his leadership.
Despite signing a three-year contract in March, Addo's future remains uncertain as the Ghana Football Association (GFA) reviews his performance.
Nunoo Mensah, recently honored for his contributions to sports development, expressed doubt about Addo's coaching abilities, particularly in crucial games.
He urged for a change in leadership, emphasizing that Addo's AFCON failure casts doubt on his capacity to secure World Cup qualification. Ghana resumes qualifiers in March 2025.
