Otto Addo to announce Black Stars squad for unity cup next week – GFA

Henry Asante Twum is the Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA). He announced that Black Stars coach Otto Addo will reveal his squad next week. This squad is for the upcoming Unity Cup tournament in the UK.

Ghana's senior national team will compete in a four-nation tournament this month. They have a semi-final match against Nigeria on May 28. The match will take place at Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium at 19:00 GMT.

The winner of this match will advance to the final on May 31. They will face either Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago in that final. The final is scheduled to start at 12:30 GMT.

In an interview, Mr. Asante Twum confirmed that preparations are ongoing. Fans can expect some new names alongside established players in the squad. He said, “The technical team is considering how to approach this Cup.”

He added that locally based players will travel directly to London for preparations. “Next week, the coach will announce his team,” he stated. Local players will join their teammates and head straight to London.

Reports suggest that Asante Kotoko players Andrews Ntim Manu and Kwame Opoku may be selected. They could also include Kamaradini Mamudu, Razak Simpson, and goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.

The Unity Cup is an important chance for the Black Stars' technical team. It allows them to assess new talent and strengthen team cohesion before future competitions.
