Data Bank CEO Kojo Addae-Mensah believes Otto Addo, head coach of Ghana's Black Stars, needs more experienced assistant coaches if retained after failing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Ghana finished bottom of Group F with just three points from six games.
Addae-Mensah acknowledged the Ghana Football Association's (GFA) intent in hiring Addo but noted the results have fallen short.
He cited Nottingham Forest coach Nuno Espirito Santo as an example of how circumstances can affect performance, supporting the GFA's plan to restructure the technical team.
Reports suggest assistant coaches John Paintsil and Joseph Laumann may be sacked. Addae-Mensah emphasized the need for experienced assistants to support Addo as the Black Stars shift focus to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March.
