Former Ghanaian defender Sam Johnson has warned Black Stars coach Otto Addo that failure to qualify for the World Cup will make his position untenable, even as an assistant coach.
Johnson’s remarks follow Ghana’s disappointing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers under Addo, which saw the team fail to qualify for the tournament.
With crucial World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar approaching, Johnson believes this is Addo’s last chance to prove himself. He stated, *“After this one, I don’t think Ghanaians will be okay with him even coming back as an assistant coach.”*
The Black Stars are currently joint-top of their qualification group with Comoros, making March’s matches critical for Addo’s future with the team.
