Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has voiced concerns over the Black Stars' decline, urging changes in the technical setup.
Ghana has struggled in recent years, suffering early AFCON exits in 2021 and 2023 and failing to qualify for the 2025 tournament.
Under Otto Addo, the team secured only three points in six qualifiers, finishing last in their group.
During a visit by Sports Minister Kofi Adams, the Asantehene criticized the team’s poor form and called for merit-based player selection.
In response, Ghana has appointed German coach Winfried Schäfer as technical advisor, with Desmond Ofei, John Paintsil, and Fatau Dauda retaining roles.
Kris Perquy joins as team psychologist, while Gregory De Grauwe becomes video analyst, ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
