Former DR Congo captain Youssouf Mulumbu has urged Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to reconsider its sponsorship deal with *Visit Rwanda* amid the ongoing conflict in eastern DR Congo.
He highlighted the humanitarian crisis caused by M23 rebels, allegedly backed by Rwanda, who have seized key territories, displacing around 700,000 people this year.
Speaking to *BBC World Service*, Mulumbu described the conflict as a “financial war” over DR Congo’s mineral wealth, particularly tantalum, used in smartphones.
He supported DR Congo’s foreign minister Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner’s call for PSG, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich to cut ties with Rwanda’s tourism board, calling the deals “blood-stained.”
While Arsenal and PSG have yet to respond, Bayern Munich stated it is monitoring the situation and consulting with the German foreign ministry.
