Para-athletes present medals to NPC President following international success

The President of the Ghana Para Athletics Association, Foster Kwarteng, presented medals to Mr. Samson Deen. He is the President of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC-Ghana). This presentation was on behalf of the para-sport community and the nation.

Gilbert Ampiah and Zinabu Issah represented Ghana at an international event. They brought home three medals from the Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan International Para Athletics Meeting in Marrakech, Morocco.

Sixteen-year-old Gilbert won his first international medal. He achieved this with a jump of 1.73 meters in the Men’s T44 High Jump. Zinabu is a national record-holder and multiple medallist. She won gold in the Women’s F57 Discus Throw with a throw of 29.25 meters. She also secured silver in the F57 Shot Put with a throw of 8.54 meters.

The medals were given as a token of gratitude and inspiration. They reaffirmed Ghana's vision to become a continental powerhouse in para-sports. Mr. Deen expressed deep appreciation for the athletes' achievements. He encouraged young Ghanaians with disabilities to dream big and train hard.

The Marrakech competition was also a qualifier for upcoming Commonwealth and Paralympic Games.
