Antoine Semenyo's Season Highlights
Antoine Semenyo finished the Premier League season with his best tally. He scored eleven goals this season, including a double over the weekend.
Fuseini Mohammed Gadafi, a Right to Dream Academy graduate, helped Union Saint-Gilloise win the Belgian Jupiler Pro League. This is their first title in 90 years.
Here’s a summary of how some Ghanaian players performed in Europe over the weekend.
ENGLAND
Antoine Semenyo scored twice in AFC Bournemouth's 2-0 win against Leicester City. Jordan Ayew played the full match for Leicester.
Kudus Mohammed came off the bench to score for West Ham United. They won 3-1 away against Ipswich Town.
Thomas Partey played the entire match for Arsenal in their 2-1 win over Southampton. Kamaldeen Sulemana played 79 minutes for Southampton.
Tariq Lamptey missed Brighton's big away win over Tottenham due to injury.
In League One, Daniel Agyei played 82 minutes for Leyton Orient. They lost narrowly, 1-0 to Charlton Athletic in the playoffs final.
SPAIN
Joseph Aidoo played only 45 minutes for Real Valladolid. They lost 3-0 at CD Leganes and he will return to Celta Vigo after his loan spell.
Abdul Mumin was injured but Rayo Vallecano qualified for Europa Conference League after a goalless draw against Real Mallorca.
Inaki Williams made a brief appearance for Athletic Club in their home loss to FC Barcelona, which ended 0-3.
Kwasi Sibo played 82 minutes for Real Oviedo in La Liga II. They won 1-0 at Tenerife and qualified for promotional playoffs.
ITALY
Ibrahim Sulemana played 55 minutes for Atalanta, who lost at home to Parma, 2-3.
Emmanuel Gyasi lasted 74 minutes but Empoli lost at home to Hellas Verona, ending with a score of 1-2.
Alfred Duncan's Venezia Calcio was relegated after losing at home to Juventus, with a score of 2-3.
Caleb Ekuban came on in the second half as Genoa beat Bologna away by a score of 3-1.
NETHERLANDS
Ibrahim Sadiq scored the winning goal for AZ Alkmaar. They won against FC Twente with a score of 3-2 and advanced in Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
TURKEY
Jerome Opoku played full-time as Istanbul Basaksehir lost at home to Adana Demirspor, ending with a score of 2-3.
Joseph Attamah Larweh also played full-time as Kayserispor drew at home with Bodrum FK, finishing at 1-1. Musah Mohammed did not play that match.
Kingsley Schindler lasted 66 minutes as Samsunspor drew away against Trabzonspor, ending at 2-2.
Prince Obeng Ampem scored to help Eyupspor win at home against Antalyaspor, finishing with a score of 2-1 last Saturday.
Emmanuel Boateng played full-time as Gaziantep FK drew with Kasimpasa, ending at 2-2. Nicholas Opoku was on the bench during this match.
BELGIUM
Mohammed Gadafi Fuseini contributed significantly by playing for Union Saint-Gilloise during their championship victory over KAA Gent (3-1). This marks their first title in nearly a century!
Christopher Bonsu Baah participated in KRC Genk's victory over Anderlecht (2-1).
Desmond Acquah came on during FCV Dender’s draw against KV Mechelen (2-2) in Relegation Playoffs.
Reymond Asante also contributed to Sporting Charleroi’s win over OH Leuven (2-1).
AUSTRIA
Edmund Baidoo scored RB Salzburg's fourth goal during their impressive victory over Rapid Wien (4-2).
Eric Ofori Agyemang featured for Wolfsberger AC during their thrilling draw against Sturm Graz (1-1).
SWEDEN
Frank Junior Adjei assisted Varnamo as they drew with Oesters IF (1-1). Rufai Mohammed did not play that match but was on the bench.
Naeem Mohammed lasted only part of Halmstads BK’s loss against Elfsborg IF (4–1). Terry Yegbe remained on the bench during this game.
Ezekiel Alladoh completed all minutes as Brommapojkarna lost at home to AIK (0–1).
DENMARK
Michael Opoku scored while playing for Lyngby during their playoff victory over AaB (3–1).
Noah Nartey also found success by scoring while helping Broendby IF defeat AGF away from home (3–2).
Caleb Yirenkyi played most of FC Nordsjaelland’s match but they suffered an away loss against FC Copenhagen (0–3). Araphat Mohammed did not play that day.
FINLAND
Abraham Okyere enjoyed full-time action as FC Haka J held FC KTP to a goalless draw.
Michael Boamah stayed on the bench while HJK Helsinki won decisively against IFK Meriehamn (4–0).
Ghanaian trio Clinton Antwi, Derrick Atta Agyei and Bob Nii Armah were active despite KuPS losing at home to VPS (0–2). Eric Danso Boateng remained on the bench too.
USA
Osman Bukari spent time on field while Austin FC drew with Minnesota United (1–1).
Stephen Afrifa did not play when Sporting Kansas City tied New England Revolution (3–3).
Emmanuel Sabbi entered Vancouver Whitecaps' game late; they secured an important away win against Real Salt Lake (3–2).
Lalas Abubakar completed all minutes but received a yellow card; FC Dallas lost away to Seattle Sounders (0–1).
Prince Osei-Owusu scored while CF Montreal drew with Los Angeles FC(2–2).
Sofo Mohammed netted late goals leading New York Red Bulls past DC United(0–2) away from home.
