Wilfred Osei Kweku 'Palmer,' owner of Tema Youth FC, has criticized the poor quality of pitches in the Ghana Premier League.
Concerns over pitch standards have intensified, especially after the tragic murder of Asante Kotoko fan Francis Frimpong at Nana Kronmansah Park during a Matchday 19 game against Nsoatreman FC.
In an interview with Sporty FM, Palmer labeled the pitches as substandard and unsafe, linking poor conditions to increasing hooliganism. He urged the Club Licensing Board to enforce stricter regulations.
In response to the incident, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has introduced new matchday safety protocols, warning clubs of severe sanctions for non-compliance. The Premier League has been temporarily suspended following the tragic event.
