Severe weather warnings due to Storm Darragh have led to the postponement of Saturday’s Championship matches between Plymouth Argyle vs. Oxford United and Cardiff City vs. Watford.

With red and amber wind warnings issued for parts of Devon and Wales, authorities deemed travel and match conditions unsafe.

Plymouth Argyle stated that the decision was made early to ensure fan and player safety, citing risks of flying debris, falling trees, and power outages. The Football Association of Wales (FAW) also postponed all domestic football and rugby matches on Saturday.

The matches hold significance in league standings, with Plymouth and Oxford positioned near the relegation zone. Precautionary inspections are also scheduled for horse racing events at Sandown Park, Aintree, Chepstow, and Wetherby. Rescheduled dates for the fixtures are yet to be announced.
