Pooley’s burial fixed for March 6

The late Francis Yaw Frimpong, widely known as Nana Pooley, will be laid to rest on March 6, according to Asante Kotoko Circles Chairman Alex Manu.

Pooley tragically lost his life after being fatally stabbed during Kotoko’s Matchday 19 fixture against Nsoatreman FC. His passing led to the suspension of the Ghana Premier League and the postponement of Kotoko’s MTN FA Cup round of 16 match.

Manu emphasized that Kotoko supporters would not be able to fully back the team until after the burial, citing Akan traditions that discourage active participation in events before a funeral.

GFA President Kurt Okraku recently met with Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee to discuss the situation, as the club and its supporters continue to mourn Pooley’s loss.
