The Member of Parliament for Bodi Constituency, Sampson Ahi, has urged both the majority and minority sides in Ghana’s Ninth Parliament to pray for Sports Minister Kofi Adams as he leads the sector.
Speaking on the floor of Parliament, Ahi commended Adams for his role in the Black Stars' impressive performances in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Ghana secured back-to-back victories, defeating Chad 5-0 and Madagascar 3-0, to top their qualification group.
"In just two months, all that we need to do, including the minority, is to pray for him (Kofi Adams), pray for the Sports Minister so that God will grant him the enablement to steer the affairs of sports in this country," Ahi stated.
Kofi Adams officially took over from Mustapha Ussif as Minister of Sports and Recreation in February 2025. His tenure so far has coincided with a turnaround in the Black Stars' form, following a disappointing run that saw Ghana miss out on the 2025 AFCON.
