President Mahama to attend 49th SWAG awards as special guest of honour

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has announced President John Dramani Mahama as the special guest of honour for the 49th SWAG Awards, set to take place on Friday, January 24, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Center.

As the longest-running sports awards scheme in Ghana, the event will celebrate outstanding achievements by Ghanaian sports personalities and teams.

President Mahama’s attendance underscores his commitment to sports development in the country, and he will deliver a keynote address on the theme “Gold and Glory,” highlighting the need for national investment in sports.

The awards night is expected to draw a large audience of sports enthusiasts, with over 50 top-performing athletes and officials set to be honored.
