Rayo Vallecano manager blames himself for James Rodriguez exit

James Rodriguez recently ended his brief, disappointing stint at Rayo Vallecano by terminating his contract after just five appearances over five months. He has since joined Club Leon in Mexico.

While many at Rayo are reportedly relieved by his departure, head coach Inigo Perez expressed a different view.

He stated that James was always respectful and wished him the best, acknowledging that the player didn’t find what he was seeking in Spain.

Perez also admitted a sense of self-criticism for not getting the most out of James during his time at the club.

Rayo has moved on, and it’s unlikely that James’ absence will have a significant impact for the remainder of the season.
