Real Madrid announce Xabi Alonso as new manager until 2028

Real Madrid CF has announced that Xabi Alonso will be the manager. He will lead the team for three seasons, from June 1, 2025, to June 30, 2028.

Xabi Alonso is a legendary figure at Real Madrid and in world football. He played 236 official matches for the club from 2009 to 2014. During his time there, he won six titles. These include one European Cup, one European Super Cup, one La Liga title, two Copa del Rey titles, and one Spanish Super Cup.

Alonso is also a legend for the Spanish national team. He won one World Cup in 2010 and two European Championships in 2008 and 2012. He played in 113 international matches.

He began his coaching career at Real Madrid's youth academy. In the 2018-2019 season, he managed the U14 A team and won both the League and Champions Tournament.

Now he returns to Real Madrid as a top coach. At Bayer Leverkusen, he made history by winning the League, Cup, and German Super Cup over three seasons.

Tomorrow, May 26, at 12:30 p.m., Xabi Alonso will be presented as coach. The event will take place at Real Madrid City.

Before this presentation, president Florentino Pérez will welcome him for a signing ceremony. This ceremony officially links Alonso to the club for three years.
