Real Madrid beat Sevilla 4-2 to close gap on La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid

Kylian Mbappe and Federico Valverde scored brilliant long-range goals as Real Madrid defeated Sevilla 4-2 to maintain pressure on La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid.

Mbappe opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a 25-yard strike, followed by Valverde's stunning 30-yard effort. Rodrygo added a third in the 34th minute, although Sevilla pulled one back through Isaac Romero. Early in the second half, Mbappe assisted Brahim Diaz to seal the win.

Sevilla captain Jesus Navas, making his final career appearance, was applauded by the Bernabeu after 20 years with the club. Madrid’s victory moved them into second place, ahead of Barcelona, and just one point behind Atletico.
