Karim Benzema, 36, may be nearing the end of his career in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad.
Reports suggest he is considering retirement after this season, although he is expected to fulfill his contract, which runs until 2026.
Al-Ittihad is not eager to extend his stay beyond this summer, as doing so could save the club €100 million.
Benzema, who is Real Madrid’s second-top scorer of all time, left the club unexpectedly 18 months ago for a lucrative offer in Saudi Arabia.
If he retires, Real Madrid will likely honor him with the farewell he didn't receive at the time of his departure.
