Alphonso Davies is set to sign a new contract with Bayern Munich, ending Real Madrid’s hopes of securing the Canadian left-back.
Despite a verbal agreement with Madrid nearly a year ago, Davies lost faith in their commitment after they failed to make a move last summer.
Madrid had considered a €25 million deal but refused to negotiate Bayern’s €50-60 million asking price. Other clubs, including Barcelona, Liverpool, and Manchester United, showed interest, but only Bayern and Madrid were serious contenders.
With Davies staying at Bayern, Madrid must rethink their left-back options, as Ferland Mendy approaches 30 and Fran García struggles to impress. Bayern is currently drafting the contract, and Davies is expected to finalize the deal by the end of the week.
