DAZN referee pundit Luca Marelli believes Inter should have been awarded a penalty for a foul by Milan’s Strahinja Pavlović on Marcus Thuram in the second half of their 1-1 derby draw.
Marelli argued that although Theo Hernandez’s subsequent tackle was clean, Pavlović’s collision with Thuram inside the box warranted a penalty.
He questioned why VAR did not intervene, stating that the foul was clear and should have been reviewed.
Inter, currently second in Serie A, remain two points behind leaders Napoli. Despite the controversy, some Milan fans disagreed, citing other moments in the match where Inter missed chances.
