Retired referee Alex Kotey has accused former Ghana Football Association (GFA) vice president George Afriyie of attempting to bribe him during Afriyie’s time with Swedru All Blacks.
In an interview with Accra-based Top FM, Kotey revealed that Afriyie visited his house with a friend and offered him a bribe to influence match officiating.
Kotey, who is currently the Referees Manager at the GFA, claimed he felt uncomfortable and asked Afriyie to leave.
He refused the bribe and suggested Afriyie give the money to his players instead. Afriyie, who previously served as CEO of All Blacks, has not yet responded publicly to the allegation.
