Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has reaffirmed that Marcus Rashford's return to the matchday squad reflects his ongoing belief that the forward’s door remains open.
Rashford, who had been omitted from the last four squads after expressing a desire for a "new challenge," made his return to the bench for Monday’s match against Newcastle. "As I said every week, I chose the players for the opponent and he was available for selection.
This time he is here," Amorim explained. The return came as United also faced absences due to suspensions and injuries. Amorim also made other lineup changes, including recalling Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee, aiming to counter Newcastle’s attacking threat. "I just try to win games," he said.
