FC Samartex and Hearts of Oak played out a goalless draw in a tense Ghana Premier League encounter at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on matchday 17.
The reigning champions, Samartex, dominated early possession but failed to create clear chances, while Hearts defended resolutely. Both goalkeepers, Kofi Baah and Benjamin Asare, made key saves in the first half to keep the score level.
In the second half, Samartex increased their attacking pressure, but Hearts nearly went ahead in the 60th minute through Hamza Issah, only for Baah to make a brilliant save. Late chances for both sides went begging, with Alhassan Mankuyeli denied by Asare and Asamoah Boateng Afriyie’s header saved by Baah. The draw leaves Samartex looking ahead to their clash with Dreams FC, while Hearts prepare for a match against Basake Holy Stars.
