Samuel Anim Addo, former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member, has been charged with breaching GFA regulations after making controversial comments on social media.
He accused referee Maxwell Hanson of misconduct during a match between Accra Lions and Dreams FC, labeling him a "hatchet man" and claiming the GFA silenced him for highlighting poor officiating.
The GFA has charged Anim Addo under Articles 34(6)(d) and 38(8)(c) of the Ghana Premier League Regulations, alleging his comments tarnished the reputation of the league.
Anim Addo, now president of Young Apostles, must respond to the charges by January 13, 2024. His statements have sparked debate on officiating in Ghanaian football and may influence how future criticisms are handled.
