Berekum Chelsea's head coach, Samuel Boadu, faces charges from the Ghana Football Association (GFA). This follows his team's FA Cup semi-final loss to Asante Kotoko at Tarkwa TNA Stadium.
On May 13, 2025, the GFA announced the charges. They claim Boadu violated Article 12(1)(i) of the GFA Disciplinary Code and Article 34(6)(d) of the Premier League Regulations.
The charges relate to his behavior towards match officials after the game. The GFA stated that Boadu approached referees aggressively and angrily.
He allegedly used inappropriate gestures that brought the game into disrepute. This incident happened right after the match amid tensions over refereeing decisions.
The GFA emphasized that such conduct goes against sportsmanship and respect for officials. It undermines efforts to promote discipline in Ghana football.
Boadu has until Thursday, May 15, 2025, to respond to these charges. If found guilty, he may face penalties including fines or a touchline ban. He could also be suspended from all football-related activities.
