Samuel Boadu opens up on his departure from Hearts of Oak; "It wasn't about performance, but........

Former Hearts of Oak head coach Samuel Boadu has spoken about his departure. He left the club after just 18 months.

Boadu, 39, is a respected coach in Ghana. He has managed eight different clubs. He was in charge of Hearts for one season only.

He took over in March 2021 and left after the 2021-22 campaign. During his time, he won five major titles with Hearts. This success ended an 11-year trophy drought for the club.

Boadu described Togbe as a father and brother to him. "His guidance went beyond football," he said. "He advised me on personal matters too." He added that if it were just Togbe at Hearts, he would have stayed forever.

Some claimed he was let go due to poor performance. Boadu disagreed with this view. "I won the league and FA Cup," he stated. "I also qualified the team for Africa despite challenges."

He believes no one can erase his contributions to Hearts. "I left with a smile because the weight was too heavy," he said. "I made my peace with it."
