Self-proclaimed travel agent and footballer Samuel Inkoom is facing charges for allegedly defrauding a university student of GH¢32,100 under the guise of securing a Netherlands visa.
Inkoom, who claims to own S. Inkoom Travel and Tour, pleaded not guilty at the Accra Circuit Court and was granted bail of GH¢50,000 with one surety.
The case, presided over by Judge Isaac Addo, has been adjourned to December 30, 2024.
The victim, Benyamm Opare-Addo, reportedly paid in installments but received neither the visa nor a full refund.
Despite partial repayment of GH¢7,000, Inkoom failed to clear the remaining balance, leading to his arrest and court appearance.
Prosecutor Jonas Laweh is handling the case.
