Ibrahim Sannie Daara, former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), expressed deep emotion after watching the controversial 2024/25 Ghana Premier League match between Dreams FC and Accra Lions.
Dreams FC won 1-0, but Accra Lions argued that poor officiating, led by referee Maxwell Hanson, cost them the game.
Sannie Daara shared his distress on social media, revealing that he cried after watching the highlights, citing the significant investment Accra Lions had made in Ghanaian football.
In response, Accra Lions criticized the GFA for poor league organization and called for better refereeing standards.
Dreams FC, however, defended the match’s outcome, suggesting that refereeing errors are part of football and urging Lions to address their concerns through proper channels.
