Seven Man City players nominated for Fifpro award

Seven Manchester City players are among 11 Premier League stars nominated for the 2024 Fifpro Team of the Year.

The City players are goalkeeper Ederson, defenders Ruben Dias and Kyle Walker, midfielders Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden, and striker Erling Haaland.

Also nominated is Cole Palmer, shortlisted for the first time after moving from City to Chelsea in 2023. Other notable nominees include Argentina's Emiliano Martinez, but there is no place for Liverpool's Mohamed Salah.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, playing outside Europe, are also nominated. The men's World XI will be revealed at the FIFA Best awards on December 9, with over 21,000 players from 70 countries casting their votes.
