Sharaf Mahama demands retraction, apology from Ghanaweb over false claims

The lawyers of Sharaf Mahama, CEO of Legacy Rise Sports, have demanded a retraction and apology from Ghanaweb for a defamatory publication.

The article, published on January 10, 2025, titled “Sharaf Mahama ‘clashed’ with Kurt Okraku after Ghana lost to Angola in Kumasi—Atta Poku alleges,” claimed Mahama was involved in an alleged confrontation with Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku following Ghana's loss.

Mahama’s lawyers argue the publication is malicious, without factual basis, and portrays him as arrogant and disruptive.

They have given Ghanaweb 24 hours to retract the article, issue an apology, and cease further publication of similar content.
