Tulenkey on Social Media Use
Ghanaian artist Tulenkey has shared why he limits his social media time. He spoke with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz about this decision.
Tulenkey believes social media takes too much time and affects his sanity. He explained that notifications can be distracting, especially at work.
"When you get a notification, it pulls your focus away," he said. Most people keep notifications on for apps like WhatsApp. However, he prefers to check messages when online.
He noted that responding to notifications can take over seven minutes of concentration. This distraction is something he wants to avoid.
As a result, Tulenkey has turned off all his notifications. He mentioned that from the moment he wakes up until noon, his phone is on 'do not disturb.' This time is crucial for his work.
He described social media as overwhelming and chaotic. "It feels like entering a marketplace," he said. People often use their phones even in private moments, which prevents relaxation.
Currently, Tulenkey is promoting a new music project focused on men's mental health. His song titled 'Barima' is available on various online music platforms.
