Brentford secured first away win of the season Brentford secured first away win of the season

Brentford secured their first away win of the season with a dominant 5-0 victory over Southampton at St Mary's.

Kevin Schade gave them an early lead, with Mikkel Damsgaard providing the assist. Although Sepp van den Berg’s header was ruled out for a foul, Brentford doubled their advantage through Bryan Mbeumo’s brilliant finish and a well-taken penalty. Mbeumo then set up goals in stoppage time for Keane Lewis-Potter and Yoane Wissa. Southampton struggled, managing just 0.3 expected goals, while Brentford created 4.2.

The loss leaves Southampton bottom of the table, 10 points from safety, and winless under manager Ivan Juric. Brentford, in contrast, rise to 10th, with Mbeumo continuing his fine form, and Damsgaard impressing with seven assists in his last 14 matches.
