Southampton are close to appointing Ivan Juric as their manager on an 18-month contract, following the sacking of Russell Martin after a 5-0 loss to Tottenham. Juric, 49, recently managed Roma before being dismissed in November after just 12 matches.
This will be his first managerial role outside Italy, with his deal reportedly including a summer break clause.
The club is seeking a manager who can instill discipline and stability after their poor start to the season.
Southampton are currently bottom of the Premier League, nine points from safety, with just one win so far. Juric is unlikely to take charge for their next match against Fulham on Sunday.
