Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has revealed that members of the newly appointed Black Stars Management Committee are not receiving any financial compensation for their roles.
The previous committee, led by Mark Addo, was dissolved by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after the Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). A new team has since been formed ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
The committee is chaired by Dr. Randy Abbey, with former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah serving as Vice Chairman and overseeing player relations. Matchday activities and operations are handled by Samuel Aboabire and Moses Armah, while Richard Nsenkyire is in charge of special duties.
Minister Adams clarified that the government is not paying committee members but hinted at possible rewards if Ghana secures a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“Black Stars Management Committee members are not being paid for now, but if we qualify for the World Cup, then the government will make a decision on what they must be given as a reward,” he told Asempa FM.
He added that the only government support provided to committee members covers their accommodation and meals.
“For now, they are all doing a sacrificial job for the team,” he emphasized.
