Sports Minister to set up committee to investigate Nigerian Boxer’s death

Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams has revealed plans to form a committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Nigerian boxer Gabriel Oluwasegun Olanrewaju, who passed away at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Saturday.

This move follows a request by the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBBC), led by Dr. Rafiu Oladipo, for an autopsy report from the Ghana Boxing Authority.

Minister Adams assured that no detail will be overlooked in the inquiry, emphasizing full cooperation between the Ghanaian and Nigerian boxing authorities.

He also addressed concerns about potential tensions, stressing that hostile reactions towards Ghanaian boxers in Nigeria would not be tolerated.
