Sudan assistant coach Ignatius Osei-Fosu has praised Kwesi Appiah as Ghana's best coach of the past decade, citing his success with Ghana's 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2019 AFCON campaigns.
Appiah, now coaching Sudan, recently guided the team to qualify for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, securing four points against Ghana in the qualifiers, including a 2-0 win in Libya.
Despite the victory, Osei-Fosu admitted feeling bittersweet, saying he and Appiah were saddened by defeating their home country.
Appiah, appointed Sudan's coach in September 2023, has revitalized the team, leading them to top their group in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, even ahead of strong contenders like Senegal. Osei-Fosu lauded Appiah’s leadership and lasting impact on African football.
