Sulley Muntari has dismissed speculation of a rift with Asamoah Gyan after the former Ghana captain called his 2010 World Cup teammates “cowards” for not stepping up to take the infamous penalty against Uruguay.
During an Instagram Live session, Gyan criticized his teammates for not sharing the pressure, but Muntari downplayed the comments, instead praising Gyan’s leadership and uplifting presence in the squad.
He acknowledged Gyan’s influence in easing pressure through singing and dancing. Muntari reaffirmed his support and admiration for Gyan, emphasizing their strong bond.
Both players were key figures in Ghana’s golden generation, featuring in three consecutive World Cups and earning a combined 193 caps for the Black Stars.
